한국의 전자출판 연구는 8비트급 개인용컴퓨터가 한국에 도입된 1982년부터 시작하여,
1988년에 ‘한국전자출판연구회’가 발족되면서 본격적으로 시작되었습니다.
이후 전자출판학회(CAPSO)로 외연을 확장했습니다.
2000년에는 한국사이버출판대학(초대 학장 이기성)을 개교하여 출판교육을 실시했습니다.
2004년에는 한국콘텐츠출판학회(KCPUB)를 창립하여 연구의 무게중심을 출판콘텐츠로 옮겼습니다.
2011년 9월부터는 한국전자출판교육원을 설립하여 출판교육과 연구를 해오고 있습니다.
2018년 4월에는 한국편집학회(KES)를 창립하여, 일본 동경에서 열린 <동아시아 타이포그래피학술대회>에 참가했습니다.
2020년 한글 활자와 전자출판의 연대기를 정리하여 《한국 출판 이야기》를 출간하고 출판기념회와 출판특강을 개최했습니다.
2021년 1월부터 한국전자출판교육원 웹진을 창간하여 계간으로 발행하고 있으며, 2023년 9월 1일자로 제11호를 발행했습니다.
2022년 한국전자출판교육원 창립 10주년 기념 행사를 개최했습니다.
2023년 7월에는 장학증서 및 장학금 수여식을 했습니다.
2024년에는 중국에서 열리는 동아시아 타이포그래피학술대회에 참가할 예정입니다.
현재 한국전자출판교육원 원장은 이기성 한국편집학회장입니다.
부원장은 김경도, 사무국장은 박찬희, 수석연구원은 전효정, 연구원은 이보현입니다.

eBook Academy(Korea Electronic Publishing Education Center)
Electronic publishing(CAP; Computer Aided Publishing) research in Korea began in 1982
when 8-bit personal computers were introduced in Korea,
It began in earnest with the launch of the 'Korea Electronic Publishing Research Association' in 1988.
Since then, it has expanded its extension to the Computer Aided Publishing Society; CAPSO).
In 2000, the Korea Cyber Publishing College(first dean Lee Ki-sung) was opened to provide publishing education.
In 2004, the Korean Society of Content Publishing was founded to shift the focus of research to publishing content.
Since September 2011, the Korea Electronic Publishing Education Center(eBook Academy) has been established
to conduct publishing education and research.
In April 2018, he founded the Korean Editors Association (KES)
and participated in the <East Asia Typography Conference> held in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2020, professor Kim Kyung Do and PhD. Lee Ki-sung published "Korean Publishing Story"
by organizing chronicles of Hangul type and electronic publishing,
and held a publication ceremony and special publication lectures.
Since January 2021, the eBook Academy Webzine has been published quarterly,
and the 11th issue has been published on September 1, 2023.
The 10th anniversary of the establishment of the eBook Academy was held in 2022.
In July 2023, we held a scholarship certificate and scholarship ceremony.
In 2024, members of the eBook Academy will participate in the East Asian Typography Conference in China.
The current president of the eBook Academy is Lee Ki-sung, president of the Korean Editors' Association.
The vice president is Kim Kyung-do, the secretary general is Park Chan-hee,
the senior researcher is Jeon Hyo-jung, and the researcher is Lee Bo-hyun.
